Make Every Thrift Trip Worth It!

I often hear or read stories about there not being any merchandise in any of the stores.  Now I am not saying that that isn't true but I do strongly disagree.  I have found that the more I open myself up to learning more about labels, trends and fashions then I am going to have a bigger expectation when sourcing.  I often hear and read about people not knowing what clothing items to buy for resale.  Well I certainly don't know everything about brands and labels but I am not limited to researching and finding things out.  I read and follow different blogs, pintrest, facebook, instagram and so forth of like minded individuals.  Here I have come to learn so much about fashion, hot trends and vintage swag!

The other day I was reading a blog and they talked about  fur vest and their popularity.  Well had they not mentioned it, I probably would have bypassed this in the Thrift Store.  Thanks to +Too Cheap Blondes  because I sourced my first rabbit fur reversible vest today!

Next was an item that caught my eye and I quickly did some research and realized that this needed to go home with me

I soured for $3  

 Beautiful Wenjilli Metallic Knit Sweater Maxi Dress 1970s I paid $1.80

and last but not least I sourced this beauty

Bergdorf Goodman Neiman Marcus Sequin Beaded Jacket Vintage

Retails $549 and I paid $4

I also sourced a Ralph Lauren Purple puffer jacket that needs some extra cleaning and Emmanuel Ungaro silk wrap skirt!

Update~

Finally got around to getting the photos done for that Betsey Johnson that I sourced a few weeks ago and also a Vintage Croc Leather Shoulder bag, made in Italy.

DESIGNER SHOES!

I had to share some of my shoes finds up close and personal with you.  I have sourced most of these in the last few weeks.  My plan is to get all my shoes photographed and listed this weekend.  I have roughly 15 pair so I definitely have my work cut out for me.

Yes I will be busy all day listing away, after I make my Saturday run to two thrift stores about 25 minutes from my house.  I haven't been to either in about 3 months so I am excited to go.  With little league football season coming to an end, my Saturday is going back to normal slowly. 

Not really going to purchase a ton of things tomorrow just going to see what my lucks brings me.  One of the stores is really good about always having sales and running special deals.  In the past I have purchased Chico's travelers knit two piece pant suit for $1 and Soma dresses for $1. 

The other store has a dollar room.  Nothing is ever over $2 and they usually have a fill a bag for $1.  I have gotten some really good deals Pendleton Blazer, Mary Kay Blazer, Oscar de la Renta Tweed Blazer, tons of vintage denim jackets and dresses!

Just my luck!!!

Hello, Hello, Hello

I wanted to keep you all up to date with what I have been doing and what I have been sourcing.  Well for the last 2 days I haven't sourced much of anything because I am dealing with my severe sinus issues, which had me bed ridden since Monday.  I am not quite a 100% but I am feeling better than I felt the first few days.  Well needless to say I wasn't about to spend another day in the house so I pulled myself together and got out the house.  Well of course you all know I headed to my favorite spot the Thrift Store and boy oh boy did I score!

Get right down to it.  I sourced a Spartina 449 Linen and Leather crossbody bag for $5 which I will probably list for $75 with BO.  A M Missoni Chevron Top which I paid $1.25 and it sells for around $59 -$129 definitely excited about that.  A vintage dress by Wenjilli which sells for up to $250, and I paid $2.45 for it.  But last and certainly not least I lucked up on this Escada 100% Royal Cashmere Blazer and I paid $5 for it.......

 

This definitely made up for my down time. 

 

Update:

 

I purchased this LL Bean Tote Purse about a week ago and I paid $3.50 decided to start the bid at $59.99 and I have 1 bid and 7 watchers so I am curious to see if this could go higher or remain where it is.  Either way it is a great turn around of profit if it only sells for $59.99.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, especially with the new time change.  I must admit I do like the time change.  Well let me jump right into my blog for today.  I went to a local thrift store on yesterday one that I frequent quite often.  I am starting to think that they are not concerned about pricing based on the brand or quality.  I really found some great pieces and so without further delay let me share those things that were hidden treasures in the racks!

Upon research these dresses sell from about $24 - $150 new

This dress has been gently worn and in great pre loved condition. 

I started this dress out as a bid, I'll see how it goes for the next 7 days!

 

Beautiful Anne Klein Wool Peacoat Blazer, Paid $4.  Listed this as a BIN.

 

Lane Bryant Velvet Blazer Size 22

Paid $2, listed as BIN.  I selected this blazer because it was velvet, the color and the size. 

 

This was my run into the thrift store yesterday.  I still owe you all part 2 of my thrift haul from Wednesday 10/29/14.  I haven't forgot just trying to get some items correctly identified. 

 

I did have a slight omg moment on Friday when I stumbled across this.....

 

yes yes that says Hermes Paris.  I will not go into extreme details but obviously this isn't the real deal.  I still paid the $3 for it and I'll just hang on to it until I actually find an authentic piece!

Tried to be productive as possible today.  Well I must say that my thrifting went well.  Started at Salvation Army 1/2 off family day spent $47.18.  Found some really good brands 2 Ralph Lauren Nautical style dresses, Adidas 1980's jogging suit, Soft Surrounding Velvet Jacket, NWT Doncaster Silk Jacket and Pants set with penguin print, Ralph Lauren Velvet Blazer, Chico's Green Plus Size Blazer, Coldwater Creek Plus Size Cardigan, Ugly Christmas Cardigan and Vest, Vintage Sweater by Sabra and a few handbags and some shoes.

 

 

My Pile, it contains 3 Eileen Fisher Tops by the way!!!

 

The accessories.  Tooled vintage leather clutch, Timberland leather belt, Van Eli ballet flats (for me), Talbots suede loafers, Lebron James Slides, Blue Striped eel skin wallet and Edelman wedges.

Best accessory find for the day, Vintage tooled leather hand made purse, paid $3.90 average selling range $60 - $300!

 

Update:  Still haven't sold this Tommy Bahama duffle bag, received some really low ball offers but I am definitely holding out until the right buyer comes along!

 

There is so much more,  I will have to share with you all in a part 2.  I really got some amazing pieces today!!!

Sue Wong Gown for $.12 cents

Good Evening....

Hope that your day is going great.  Well I'll jump right in on this blog.  A few months ago I bought a three racks of clothing for $15, 131 pieces in all.  Found one stunning, amazing dress that was gorgeous.  After some research I realized that this was not just any old dress this was a glamorous gown red carpet status.  I paid $.12 cents for each piece if you do the math.  I had this dress listed for a little over 45 days so glad that someone said "Yes to the dress"!  Amazing profit on this beauty....

October Rewind, Fast Forward!!!

 

Good Evening.....

 

I am so enthused about catching you up so I decided to do this special blog.  My October, rewind and fast forward to where I am now.   So let's jump right into it...

 



 

 

Picked these Fitflop boots from my local Thrift Store for $3 and they sold in less than a few days.  I accepted a best offer of $60.00

 



 

 

 

 

 

Had this fur cape/bolero in my inventory for about 6 months.  Waited about 4 1/2 months before I listed it.  Finally sold, I did have Best Offer on this item but the buyer was international and they paid the full asking price. 

 

**I did under price shipping on this item by about $12**

But I still made a profit on this item since it cost me $9.00 from a mom and pop store.







 

 

 

 

 

I picked up this beauty at the end of September and took me about two weeks to get it listed.  I am slow at listing but I love shopping.  This coat was Faux Fur and it had some flaws, tear in the lining under the arm and the buttons looked as though they had been replaced and they were not aligned properly.  I took a Best Offer of $75.  Probably could have gotten more but there is something about me seeing my inventory movvvvvvve, lol!

I love Eileen Fisher, especially in Plus Size.  I picked up this two piece pink blouse for $6 from Goodwill Clearance Store.

Received great feedback from the buyer.  I believe this item was only listed for about 3 weeks.

 

 

 

 

Picked up these buttons from an Estate Sale for $5 and sold them as a full lot for $63.90.  I have had these buttons for about 3 months.  Finally listed them and sold in about a week.

I picked this nice coat for $16.00 from a TS (Thrift Store)

I am excited about this and I will keep you posted on the when this sales...  By the way I almost didn't buy this.
